Preference Assessments/Interest Inventories.If you want to write a good IEP, do NOT begin writing until you have conducted the appropriate assessments! The results of the assessments will give you the information needed to describe the student’s present levels of performance (AKA present levels of academic achievement and functional performance). In order to have the information you need to write an IEP, you need to have access to previous assessments in addition to having conducted new assessments.
